Organising Your Life for Endless Travel
I feel, that the key to living a life of endless travel is to have the ability to pack up and go whenever and where-ever your heart calls to be. Here are a few steps to take:
Become a minimalist.Everything I own can be packed into a single bag. Sure I buy a few extra things when I plan on staying somewhere for a little while ie, more than a few weeks, but when I decide to move on, I just throw everything out that does fit into my list. Your list will be a little different than mine, but for an idea, you can view this post to look at what I carry.
Be safe. Travelling can be dangerous if your not prepared, especially in unfamiliar territory. You need to be ready for the abundance of unexpected adventures that you will no doubt embark on. It is wise to learn a few essential survival skills before you go. You can take alook around this site for some good tips, but I also recommend taking a survival course or 2 (wilderness and urban), and learning some self defense. Most dangers will come from other people so learn about people. Learn how not to piss them off and some psycological disarming techniques. Research where your going to next before you get there, and if applicable, do your best to learn a bit of the local language.
Tie up loose ends. Eliminate anything that has the potential to hold you back. Obviously some things are just a way of life eg death of a family member etc, but most things can be handled eg be debt free
Income. The last thing you want is to have to go home because you’ve run out of money. Make sure you save up enough to last you until you get to the next place where you can make some money. Even better, set up an income that can be done over the internet, or better still, a completely residual income. Check out this guys post http://www.wanderingearl.com/how-i-can-afford-my-life-of-constant-travel/ . I also have a bunch of posts on the subject.
Just travel! Don’t well on any of these things to long. You dont need to be fluent on the language, an expert martial artist or even completely debt free. Alot can be done as you go. Decide where you want to start off and go there. As long as you have food and shelter, nothing else matters
